The client’s priority on financial utility for his long-awaited two-story barn on Lake Dunmore in Vermont, led to the use of pre-fabricated panels and a truss roof system as the basic building components. The benefits from these two building systems have long been lauded, and with good reason.
Prefabricated panels are manufactured in a controlled factory environment, and then shipped to the site, and quickly erected with a the help of a lift. Careful consideration of the design, mechanical and structural pieces to the building is worked out on paper and brought to form in the factory to produce precise, numbered wall sections that are easily and quickly lifted to their appropriate location and pinned.
Within a week, first floor wall panels, the second floor deck, and then second floor wall panels are in place and ready for the trussed roof system. This process shaves says off weeks from the schedule, inherently ensures quality control, and leaves virtually no waste behind.
